Movie Name: Barbie

The world of children’s favorite Barbie and Ken dolls is known through toys made on them. Barbie’s world is pink. Ken doll is also a part of the same world, but he is not as capable as Barbie. The very idea of making a film on a doll is very creative.

The world of barbie is female dominated

All dolls in this world are named Barbie and all dolls are named Ken. The film begins in Barbieland, where women rule. There she is handling powerful positions like doctor, lawyer, leader, while Ken spends his time in recreational activities on the beach.

One day the stereotypical (Margo Robbie) worries about her own death. When she wakes up the next morning, she realizes that her world is changing. After removing the shoes from the feet of Barbie wearing heels, her heels do not come in the air, but on the ground. Fat is accumulating on his body.

Weird Barbie (Kate McKinnon) tells her to go to the real world to find a girl who is playing with a doll just like her. Barbie leaves with Ken for real life experinces. Coming to the real world, Kane learns that it is a patriarchy where men are powerful.

When Barbie meets the girl, Shasha (Arianna Greenblatt), she scolds Barbie that her beauty is unrealistic. Because of that, other girls are also expected to be as beautiful as Barbie. When the toy company that makes Barbie learns that she is in the real world, they capture her to send her back.

Gloria (America Ferreira), Sasha’s mother and an employee of the company, helps Barbie get to Barbieland. Barbieland has now become Kendom Land. The other Barbie doll there has become a domestic help, a housewife. What will Barbie do now? The story progresses on this.

Barbie’s fantasy world standing in front of the real world

Greta and her husband Nova Baumbach have co-written the story of the film. In such a situation, he has very cleverly created such an imaginary world in front of the real world, which is male dominated, through dolls, as women want for themselves.

Set designers and decorators Sarah Greenwood and Katy Spencer have left no stone unturned to make the world of Barbieland beautiful. Barbie’s house, bed, cup, shoes, car are every toy that would be seen in the packet of Barbie. He has been made a part of this world.

Gloria’s monologue on the status of women in the real world is thought-provoking. However, the scene of men fighting among themselves for survival gives rise to the point where women are ridiculed for causing men to fight among themselves.

However, in the end, Greta, through the role of Ken, talks about getting out of this thinking and making him an ally. He has also criticized people at the toy company that made the dolls for their regressive business decisions.

Best performance by Margo Robbie

Margo Robbie has shown the journey of how a plastic doll comes out of her world and understands human emotions. Ken may not have found a strong place in the world of dolls, but Ken’s point of view has also been shown in this film. Ryan Gosling plays Kane with gusto.

Will Ferrell laughs as the owner of a toy company. In the role of Weird Barbie, Kate McKinnon represents those Barbie dolls whose faces are painted, children play with their hands and feet. The doll of Barbie will also be seen in the film, which is no longer seen in the market.
